POLICIES

Canine Vaccinations

Before any training or boarding services, vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours prior to arrival under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian. However, we prefer vaccinations be administered 10– 14 days before check-in to ensure maximum efficiency. Written proof is required. You can submit your vaccines on our website or to woof@theunderdogtraining.com

You must also show proof of your dog meeting state and local pet boarding vaccination requirements. We require the following vaccines:

  • Rabies 1 or 3 year. Rabies vaccine is required by law in all U.S. states. Any dog without a rabies vaccine will be reported to the state of residence.

  • DAPP / DHPP / DA2PP (Distemper, Hepatitis / Adenovirus-2, Parvovirus & Parainfluenza) or equivalent vaccine: 1 or 3 year

  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough). Please note that some veterinarians administer this vaccine only by request.

We do not require, but recommend, the following vaccines and medications:

  • Canine Influenza vaccine (CIV). Consult your veterinarian.

  • Leptospirosis vaccine. There may be some indication to not administer this vaccine to senior pets or certain breeds. Consult your veterinarian.

  • Flea & Tick prevention medication. We have no way to ensure you have kept up on your dogs' flea and tick medication. However, by using our services you agree that your dog is flea and tick free to the best of your knowledge. We have the right to refuse service to anyone.

Vaccination schedules can be found on the Utah Humane Society website. Scroll down and click "Vaccinations."

Exceptions can be made for puppies who haven't aged into the full vaccination schedule (less than 16 weeks old). We board train puppies under 16 weeks.

Restrictions

Unlike most boarding and training companies, we accept dogs of every size and breed, including bully breeds. We do not have breed restrictions. We board and train intact males and females, and pregnant and nursing females. We also board and train puppies and senior animals. You may be asked to furnish additional documentation if needed.

We do not board or train wolves, coyotes, foxes or hybrids of these species regardless if the animal is legally obtained.

Some aggression and disease-related issues may require us to turn a dog away for safety reasons. Most issues do not require us to reject the dog, please contact us if you think this applies to your animal. Any active or contagious condition including, but not limited to: fleas, ticks, parasitic infections, bacterial infections, and viral infections will result in rejection of your dog.

Any animals needing medication administered (boarding only) will be required to submit a Medication Form.

We reserve the right to refuse service to any animal if the employees deem it necessary.
