Puppy Guide by Underdog Training

Puppy Guide by Underdog Training

This program is designed for puppies 8 weeks – 6 months.

This 56-page e-book covers 17 basic dog commands and how to teach them. We'll cover components of obedience, socialization, rewards, communication, methodology, long-term goals, and more. After, we'll integrate all 17 commands using weekly worksheets. Rest easy knowing every single week of your puppy's life is covered in this booklet (from 8 weeks to 6 months).

The 17 commands covered in this book (A-Z):

  • Adventure Walks (Walking on Leash)
  • Break
  • Crate
  • Easy
  • Go Potty
  • Hup & Off
  • Inspection
  • Leave It
  • Let's Go (Come)
  • Lift
  • Place
  • Platz (Down)
  • Sit
  • Stay
  • Take & Aus (Drop)

The techniques in this guide are more basic than what we would use for dogs 6 months and older. This is an introduction to bonding with your puppy, who has a much less mature brain than an adult dog.

Puppies have short bursts of energy followed by longer periods of rest, and they don’t benefit from consequences the way an adult dog would. This training works within those limits to help your puppy establish good behaviors. While some of these methods may carry into adulthood, it’s important to start with the basics to create a foundation of structure and trust.
